Description
CG1 Black Pearl Irons are the flagship, tour-inspired blades for Cleveland Golf in 2006. Currently played by Vijay Singh, these elegant irons feature a rich Black Pearl finish, milled faces and slightly less offset than the CG1 chrome irons. Each iron features Cleveland Golf's new Micro Mill technology, a face-milling process that creates the first truly flat-faced iron. Applying Micro Mill decreases shot dispersion by an amazing 50%, which is sure to make this technology a hit among Tour pros. The classic shape of the CG1 Black Pearl features a longer blade length, straighter topline and a more squared toe. The optimized center of gravity location also allows greater trajectory control for skilled players.

CG1TM BLACK PEARL IRONS >> THE METAL:
Our goal was to find or create a material that would damp vibration in an unprecedented fashion and could be readily manipulated and engineered for performance. This new metal, while not a composite, is infused with 17 times more carbon than traditional 8620 and 1020 steels. Using a process unique to the CMM material, microscopic carbon spheres are infused within the molecular structure of the metal. This creates a matrix that is 10% less dense than ordinary steel yet it maintains the hardness and manipulation properties of cast or forged carbon steel. These density relieving spheres within the CMM metal also dramatically damp vibration offering a pure, soft feel never before achieved in any golf club.
CG1TM BLACK PEARL IRONS >> THE DESIGN & PERFORMACE:
The new CG1 irons take traditional blades to a new level of feel and performance. Made from CMM metal, they offer players a softer and more responsive feel. Designed with the better player in mind, CG1 irons have a slightly larger muscle in order to move the center of gravity lower and deeper within the clubhead to promote a higher ball flight, especially in the long irons. These muscle back irons come in a mirror chrome finish and they are offered with True Temper Dynamic Golf taper tip shafts.
